One thing is sure, Life will never be the same after quarantine and all this COVID mess.
It’s been more than a four-month since COVID-19 has been introduced in the world and 40 days since Nepal has been in the lockdown phase to avoid COVID-19 as much as possible.
Looking at the Government plan to deal with this, the lockdown will surely extend furthermore while the people will continue to get infected until some miracle happens.
During my time of leisure that I have in this quarantine, I have predicted a thing or two. Now, they may be obvious or not be true in the future, but what’s the harm??
1) The number of unemployed people in Nepal will grow more than ever: Unemployment was always one of the burning problems in Nepal and guess what? It is gonna rise more. As the industry is going down and all the people from foreign employment are going to come back, it’s only obvious that you are gonna get unemployed too.
2) All the people who went to other countries will come back: All the students and employees that were out for studies and employment are going to come back and surely the remittance will drop down which was one of the main incomes of the nation.
3) The number of people going for foreign employment will decrease: For the fear of COVID-19, countries will try to minimize foreign people from entering the nation, then the number of people going out from Nepal will decrease dramatically.
4) The respect for the Nurse and doctor profession will increase: The doctor profession has always been one of the respected professions in Nepalese society and it will even continue to grow furthermore. I really hope that people realize that all professions are equal.
5) Business and education will focus on going online: The importance of online business has been thoroughly realized in this situation where no one gets to get out. So, all businesses and schools will focus on creating an online platform for themselves.
6) COVID-19 won’t be cured, people will adopt and live with it: Scientists all over the world are constantly working on the vaccine that will cure COVID-19, they may find the cure or not but applying the vaccine to all the infected patients that are over 4 million will be hard. So, I predict people will just have to live with this disease just like we live with cancer and another disease.
7) People will appreciate and love their job: Most of the population are jobless now, the job that they hate was at least providing them a salary and a sense of busyness. With all that gone, I am very sure that people will love their job once this all goes back to normal.
